Setting out on to the Slopes?

Hey it is that time of year again and many of you will be venturing out for the first time skiing and snowboarding since you put away your equipment at the end of last season. Hopefully you have been keeping in shape and won't be heading into the lodge after just a half of day of riding. Staying fit both physically and financially will give you the best skiing and snowboarding experience.

Keeping in shape for winter is easy when it is fun. We have been out hiking and cycling most of the off season. Some of the other things we do is use an exercise ball to keep our core muscles strong. I have a little hint for you all, since yo are reading this on your computer... do what I did a few years ago and replace your computer chair with a properly sized Bosu Exercise ball. The little movements the you will make while trying to stay balanced on the ball will do wonders for those core muscles.

Skiing and snowboarding is always better when you are in the best shape you can be in. Make it fun and make it a part of your everyday life and staying inshape will keep you riding into a very old age.

Learn Skiing Online
Welcome to our Skiing Online Course, your all-out tutorial for basic skills, techniques, and maneuvers on the slopes. Learn the proper moves right from the very beginning so you will have a good foundation before venturing into the intermediate and advanced skills. Understanding the Fall Line
Understand what a Fall Line really is by reading this section. For starters, a fall line is an imaginary line down a mountain or a hill wherein gravity makes an object to roll down.


Skiing Stance
Skiing beginners should learn first the standard skiing stance. This should be one of the first steps a beginner must know since this paves the way for easily learning the succeeding exercises.


Carrying your Skis

Kick Turn

Clock Turn
This Skiing Exercise enables you to change direction and turn in place using either the tips or tails of your Skis as pivots. Learn how a Clock Turn is done in this section.


Side-stepping
In Side-stepping, you need to keep your Skis perpendicular to the Fall line so you will not slide backwards. Learn how to side-step up the hill in this section.


Herringbone

Sideslipping

Traversing

Linking Turns
After learning different basic maneuvers and skills, it's time to combine them in one exercise. In this section, learn how to link turns smoothly and effectively.

Getting ready For Spring Skiing

Hopefully You are having a great ski season, with record snow falls all around the North America. So hopefully you are ready for some great up coming spring skiing. Warm weather by day and cold temperatures by night will insure great skiing for quite some time. Being here in the east we look forward to late season snow.
